Implementing Tokenization in BRM

Tokenization is a security method for safeguarding sensitive information that improves data security by eliminating the need to directly store sensitive information, such as credit card numbers. The credit card number is replaced with a non-decryptable token. The credit card number itself can be discarded, as the token can be used to retrieve all the necessary information.

Tokenization is more efficient than normal encryption, minimizes the scope of what can be breached, and eases the PCI compliance validation process. However, BRM does not support tokenization out of the box and requires customization to use tokens instead of credit card numbers.
