Case Study: Bridge Over Troubled Waters
A large telecommunications company wanted to save software maintenance fees by replacing their vendor-supplied provisioning system with a custom built application. They contracted the work to a consulting firm who offered them very low hourly rates based on an offshore development model. The ROI for justifying the project was based on the cost of one year of software maintenance fees.
Unfortunately for them, their consulting vendor ran the implementation cost 200% over budget and more than one year late on the delivery. At this point the telecommunications company asked SSG for assistance.
